About Kiss Off

Everyone remembers their first love. Few experiences will ever be as intense and overwhelming, perhaps nothing is ever quite as painful as getting over the boy/girl who taught you what it means to fall in love. You thought you'd spend the rest of your lives together. Then unexpectedly, any number of things can happen to tear your relationship apart. And suddenly, you’re alone.

What if your first love dumped you? Then a decade later you’re forced to work alongside them. Imagine all those old feelings being reawakened. And then try to imagine the horror of realising they may be a psychotic killer. What would you do? That’s the deliciously devilish dilemma at the heart of Kiss Off!

Nancy is an everywoman and we identify with her, feeling her anguish as events unfold. I took a Hitchcockian glee in writing two sequences that see our heroine in peril. The first finds her the victim of a game of cat and mouse with a masked assailant during a game of paintball. The second equally tense moment is set in an office out of hours, as Nancy scrambles around the place, attempting to avoid the killer.
